During our GaspĆ©sie road trip, one of the most memorable adventures we did was a guided sea kayaking tour from the sandy beach of Coin-du-Banc toward the iconic RochĆ© PercĆ©. Because of the currents that day, we couldn’t make it all the way to the rock — but honestly, it didn’t matter at all. The real highlight was seeing seals playing around our kayaks, popping their heads out of the water and following us with curiosity. It was adorable and such a magical moment.

The tour takes you along the impressive falaises de Cannes-de-Roches, where you get to admire the unique and colorful geology of the coastline. Seeing PercĆ© from the water gives you a completely new perspective — it feels wild, peaceful, and so different from observing it from the village.

The whole activity lasts around 4 hours, which includes gearing up, instructions, and the shuttle ride back. They provide everything you need to stay warm and comfortable: a thick wetsuit, life jacket, rain jacket… you basically just need your swimsuit. It’s a bit of an investment, but to me it was totally worth it, especially if you enjoy sporty activities or anything related to the ocean.

The tour finishes on a beautiful beach with a postcard-perfect view of PercĆ© Rock, and you can even go for a swim if you’re not afraid of the cold water!

For me, it was one of the standout experiences of the entire trip — fun, immersive, and full of surprises.
