🚴 Distance: ~40 km from Montreal, riding through Récréoparc
⏱️ Ride time: allow 2.5-3h at an easy pace
🚗 Drive from Montreal: ~40 min if you're not biking
⚠️ Difficulty: Easy — flat, paved bike path the whole way
🧼 Pro tip: bring your own soap — rooms don't include any, though the hotel sells some on-site if you forget. Rooms are small but clean, so pack light if it's just an overnight stop.
Expect a small, clean room, a full breakfast buffet with pancakes, eggs, and coffee, and a genuinely interesting piece of Quebec history on your doorstep.
🚴 A former convent turned hotel, and one of the easiest first overnight bike trips out of Montreal.
Manoir d'Youville sits on Île Saint-Bernard in Châteauguay, a small island once run by the Grey Nuns for over 200 years — the site still has the original 1686 mill and a wildlife refuge right next door. We rode there through Récréoparc, and the hotel had secure bike storage waiting when we arrived, which made it an easy first choice for a one-night bikepacking trip. Once you're there, you're set up for small hikes, a beach on Lake Saint-Louis for a swim, and even sailing if you're into it — but honestly, we went purely for the ride and the stay.
