🗺️ Tip: Ideal stop to stretch your legs on the way to Gaspésie

On our way to Gaspésie, we stopped at Kamouraska, and honestly, it’s a tiny, picture‑postcard village on the south shore of the St. Lawrence.

With its traditional architecture, cozy atmosphere, and beautiful views over the St. Lawrence River, it’s the perfect place to take a break, breathe, and enjoy the moment.

You can walk along the beach and take in the peaceful scenery — especially beautiful on a sunny day. We explored the village and found some great local spots: a chocolate factory where you absolutely have to try their “trempé” (ice cream dipped into chocolate), a fish shop that serves a delicious seafood poutine, and a bakery that’s just impossible to resist.

Kamouraska really has it all — good food, lovely streets, and that special small-town charm that makes you want to slow down. It’s a well-deserved stop on any Gaspésie road trip and a great place to stretch your legs before hitting the road again.
