Taking the free ferry to Tadoussac was a smooth and stress-free part of the trip and a nice break from driving. The service is well organized and reliable, even if you may have to wait in line during busy summer days. Once on board, the short crossing offers beautiful views over the Saguenay Fjord, with fresh sea air and a calm atmosphere. There are toilets available, as well as vending machines, which makes the ride even more comfortable. The crossing only takes about 10 minutes, but it really feels like a small experience on its own and a perfect transition before continuing the road trip along Route 138.
