đ Best for: Coastal views, boat tours, beach strolls, hiking & exploring
âș Tip: Stay at least two nights â there is so much to do
Percé is truly a must-do on any Gaspésie itinerary. This tiny, charming one-street coastal village has an incredible amount to offer, and staying only one night would feel too rushed. The town is lined with restaurants, cafés, bars, souvenir shops, campgrounds and small hotels, giving it a relaxed holiday feel.
What I loved most is that RochĂ© PercĂ© â the regionâs most iconic landmark â is visible right from the village, whether youâre walking along the main street or relaxing on the beach. Speaking of which, the beach is beautiful for a stroll, especially at sunset.
There are also hiking trails that start directly from the village, making it easy to explore without taking the car. And of course, Percé is the departure point for the seasonal boat tours to Bonaventure Island, where you can see the famous gannet colony.
Do note that many restaurants and services reduce their hours in the off-season, and French is mainly spoken here â but a few basic phrases go a long way.
Percé is one of those places where you slow down, soak in the scenery, and enjoy the magic of the Gaspésie coastline. Staying two nights felt perfect!
