🍁 Best season: Summer to early fall — perfect for whale spotting and exploring the village
Tadoussac is one of those places that feels timeless — a charming little village on the St. Lawrence River, where the sea breeze, colorful houses, and relaxed rhythm of life instantly win you over. To reach it, you cross the Saguenay Fjord on a free ferry, a short but beautiful ride that already sets the tone for what’s ahead.
Once there, you’ll find cozy hotels, a local microbrewery, and inviting cafés, all nestled within streets lined with traditional Québec architecture. The village has a warm, authentic feel — a mix of maritime history and small-town charm.
One of my favorite spots is the old cemetery overlooking the bay — peaceful and surprisingly scenic, with views stretching across the water. Just nearby, you can visit the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre (the whale museum) to learn more about the region’s giants of the sea. From there, take the short 1.3 km loop trail at Pointe de l’Islet🐋, a lovely coastal walk where, if you’re lucky, you might even spot belugas or whales right from the shore.
Whether you come for the marine life, the views, or simply the cozy village atmosphere, Tadoussac is one of those magical Québec destinations that stays with you long after you leave. 🌅✨
