The hike to Bunes Beach, nestled at the end of Reinefjord on Moskenes Island, is a relatively easy and scenic walk that offers stunning views of the rugged Lofoten landscape. This hidden gem of a beach is known for its pristine white sands and turquoise waters, which provide a striking contrast to the steep, rocky peaks surrounding it. The hike is perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat in nature, with minimal difficulty, making it suitable for families with children. While the beach remains remote, the experience is worth every step, providing a chance to disconnect and enjoy the beauty of the Arctic.

Starting point: To begin the hike, take the express boat from Reine to Vinstad. The boat ride itself is part of the adventure, offering spectacular views of the towering mountains lining the Reinefjord. Upon arrival in Vinstad, you will feel as if you've reached a remote corner of the world, surrounded by solitude and breathtaking scenery. You can check the time table and book a ticket on the official website: https://booking.reisnordland.no/webshop/#/reise

Route: From the Vinstad ferry landing, the trail begins along a wide, gravel path that leads you beside the water for about 2 km. This section is flat and easy to follow, making it a pleasant walk with the fjord on one side and majestic mountains on the other. The trail is well-maintained and marked, so it’s easy to stay on track as you progress towards the end of the fjord. As you near the end of the fjord, you’ll encounter a fork in the trail. The trail narrows and becomes more rugged, but it's still easy to follow. After about 15 minutes of walking uphill, you’ll reach a small saddle, where you'll be rewarded with expansive views of both Vinstad and the beach in the distance. At this point, you’ll begin the final descent toward Bunes Beach.

Difficulty according to Norwegian standards: Green = Suitable for beginner hikers, no special skills required.

Distance: ≈ 3 km
