Sensō-ji, located in Asakusa, Tokyo, is an ancient Buddhist temple dedicated to Kannon, the bodhisattva of compassion. It's Tokyo's oldest temple and a popular tourist spot with over 30 million visitors annually. Destroyed during WWII, it was rebuilt in the 1950s and features iconic structures like the Kaminarimon Thunder Gate and the Hōzōmon Treasure-House Gate. The temple complex includes a main hall, a five-story pagoda, and Nakamise-dōri street lined with traditional shops. It's a must-visit for those looking to experience Japanese culture and history.
