The Gateway of India in Mumbai is a historic arch-monument built in 1924 to commemorate the landing of King George V in India. Designed by architect George Wittet, this iconic structure stands tall at 85 feet and is made of yellow basalt and concrete. It serves as a symbolic entrance to India and holds significance as the spot where the last British troops left in 1948.
