The Mykonos windmills are a famous feature of the Greek island, standing tall and proud overlooking the village of Mykonos. Built by the Venetians in the 16th century, these iconic structures were used to mill wheat and were a vital source of income for the locals. Today, there are 16 windmills on the island, with seven perched on a hill in Chora. Their round shape, white color, and pointed roofs make them easily recognizable, and one of them has even been turned into a museum. A visit to these windmills offers stunning views of the village and harbor, making them a must-see attraction for visitors exploring Mykonos.
