The Broad’s white, honeycomb-like façade makes it one of LA’s most eye-catching architectural landmarks. Its clean geometry and soft grey tones work especially well in morning or midday light, when subtle shadows bring out the building’s depth and structure.

Due to constant traffic along S Grand Avenue, it can be hard to get a clean shot from directly in front. I recommend stepping across the street—still on S Grand Avenue—to capture the full building without obstructions. If you wait a couple of minutes, a passing orange Metro bus can add a bold splash of color and contrast to your shot.

The exterior alone offers rich visual interest for fans of minimalist and architectural photography. While the interior features the picturesque escalator and the immersive Infinity Mirrored Room (check out this locations as well), the outer shell is already a modern classic that’s absolutely worth photographing on its own.
