The Moorish Castle (Castelo dos Mouros) in Sintra, Portugal, is a 10th-century fortification built on a hilltop for strategic defense, with winding walls that offer stunning views over Sintra, Pena Palace, and the Atlantic. Originally an important military outpost for the Moors, it was conquered in 1147 and later restored, becoming a Romantic ruin and a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rugged beauty, ancient ramparts, and historic significance.
