For one of the most breathtaking views of Sun Moon Lake, you'll want to make the trip up to Ci'en Pagoda. It's a special place, built by Chiang Kai-shek in memory of his mother, and the panoramic scenery from the top is truly unforgettable. To get there, you'll follow a pleasant, paved trail for about 10-15 minutes as it winds uphill through the trees. Once you reach the top, climb the nine stories of the pagoda to be rewarded with a stunning 360-degree vista of the entire lake and the mountains beyond.
