Ayn Ghazal is a Neolithic archaeological site in Jordan where some of the oldest large-sized statues were discovered. It was a bustling village around 7000 BCE with up to 3,000 residents, but the population dwindled due to environmental issues. People there farmed, herded goats, and hunted wild animals for food. They also had cool burial practices like burying skulls separately under their houses. Plus, they made these funky plaster statues that are pretty famous now. Overall, Ayn Ghazal was a happening spot back in the day!
