Port Orford Heads State Park in Oregon is a small park with big views and a rich wartime history. It preserves the site of the Port Orford Lifeboat Station, which provided lifesaving service on the southern Oregon Coast from 1934 to 1970. The park features a museum in the Crew Quarters building, where visitors can learn about the station's history and see historical artifacts. Hiking trails offer stunning views of the coastline, and you can explore remnants of the station's boathouse and observation tower. Don't forget to keep an eye out for whales during whale watching season!
