The Sarcophagi of Carajía, located in Peru's Utcubamba Valley, are a group of unusually large pre-Inca Chachapoyas culture sarcophagi perched on a cliffside. Standing up to 2.5 meters tall, these unique burial sites contain mummies with exaggerated jawlines and intricate details. Their remote location high above a river gorge has helped preserve them from looters, making them a fascinating archaeological discovery.
