Wategos is hands down our fav beach in Byron! The vibes are just right—laid-back surfers, party waves, and a stunning stretch of sand to chill on. There’s even a BBQ area, so you can sizzle up a feast with an ocean view!

You can also wander up the coastal trail to the gorgeous lighthouse—keep your eyes peeled for koalas, dolphins, turtles, mantas, and even whales! ✨🌊🐬

It never feels too packed since parking is limited to 4 hours (but snagging a spot is tricky), so best to come before sunrise or take the scenic walk from The Pass.

Tipp: If you come before sunrise, you can stay for free until 9 am and then pay for the next 4 hours to make the most out of this dreamy spot! They like to book you in Byron, so make sure to stick to the parking regulations!
