Javornik is a remote hilltop with an observation tower at the top. In winter the trees and the tower can get an icy layer, creating a beautiful winter scenery. You can reach a small cabin that offers food and shelter by car and then walk uphill for about 30 minutes to reach the top. Roads into the village are narrow and can be steep or muddy in bad weather, so check conditions in winter and download maps for offline use because mobile signal can be patchy. The place is best for short hikes, quiet nature photography and getting away from crowds, and if you need dining, groceries or medical services plan on a trip of roughly 15 to 25 minutes to the nearest larger town and book accommodation in advance.
