Mostnica gorge is a narrow gorge of the Mostnica river by Lake Bohinj, and what you need to know is that it is a short, scenic walk with wooden bridges and tight rock channels that takes about 20 to 45 minutes round trip, so plan it as a quick stop rather than a long hike. Wear sturdy, non-slip shoes because paths get muddy and slippery after rain and some stretches are uneven and not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. There is no big visitor center, parking by Stara Fužina can fill up in summer and has a small fee, and the spot gets crowded midday, so go early or late for quieter photos. Bring water and a light rain layer, combine the visit with Lake Bohinj, and expect a peaceful, photogenic natural squeeze rather than a strenuous adventure. Under the trees, light levels can be low - and as water often benefits from slightly slower exposures, a tripod and polarising filter are recommended. Cloud cover helps even out the lighting, so an overcast day will help avoid overexposed water flows.
