What to expect:
Escape to the tranquil beauty of Schwendisee, a serene mountain lake nestled in the heart of the Toggenburg region. An easy, wheelchair-accessible path winds around the water, making it a perfect retreat for everyone looking to enjoy stunning alpine scenery without a strenuous hike. In summer, the crystal-clear water is wonderfully refreshing for a swim, and you'll find several barbecue areas perfect for a family picnic. In winter you can icebath. We visited this lovely lake after the Thur-Falls only 5 minutes by car away.
How to get here:
Park at the Parkplatz Klangweg, after that its a nice 5 minutes walk to the lake.
1.5h drive from Zurich.
Notes:
There are several official fire pits around the lake. So don’t forget your sausage. By the way, “Olma Bratwurst” is a regional specialty that locals love to grill over the fire in the summer. you have to try it!
