When you visit Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park in downtown Tombstone, expect a compact, well-curated museum housed in the old Cochise County courthouse that explains the town’s gunfight-era, mining and law-enforcement history in a way that makes the rest of the town make sense. Plan for limited street parking and a short walk from the main re-enactment area, arrive mid-morning to beat crowds and heat, and budget about 45 to 90 minutes to see the exhibits; there is a small admission fee, a gift shop and restrooms. Photography for personal use is generally allowed, but be aware the historic building has stairs and some upper-floor exhibits may be difficult if you have mobility limits. Combine this stop with the O.K. Corral and nearby attractions for the best use of your time.
