Monkey Mia, nestled on Western Australia's Coral Coast, is where the magic of wild dolphin encounters comes alive. Imagine turquoise waters gently caressing ochre sand dunes, setting a scene straight out of a postcard. To access the beach and the dolphin feeding area, you'll need to enter through the caravan park, which requires a $15.00 pass. Also keep your eyes peeled as you explore, emus often wade in the shallows, adding a touch of wildlife charm to your visit.

Monkey Mia is home to a thriving dolphin population, with over 2,000 dolphins in Shark Bay and about 300 regularly visiting the waters around Monkey Mia. These dolphins are Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, known for their playful antics and curious nature. For over 40 years, these intelligent creatures have graced the shores of Monkey Mia, captivating visitors with their morning visits.

For the best dolphin experience, head to the beach area around 7:30 am, just before feeding time begins at 7:45 am. As a budget traveler, I find $15.00 a little steep for this experience so I would suggest making the most of your visit by taking advantage of the resort facilities, including a hot shower and amenities.
