Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs is a fantastic spot if you're looking to blend a bit of adventure with some well-deserved relaxation. I had a blast exploring Newdegate Cave, which is definitely the star of the show here. The guided tours, lasting about 45 minutes, are led by super friendly park staff who are great at diving into the fascinating details of the cave’s geology and history. Walking through the cave felt like stepping into a hidden, magical realm, with its impressive rock formations and underground beauty, it was such a fun adventure.
The tour costs $26 for adults, and I’d say it’s well worth it for the experience. After the cave, I was looking forward to unwinding in the thermal springs pool. To be honest, the pool itself was a bit underwhelming. The water wasn’t as warm as I had hoped, and it felt more like a regular swimming pool full of kids. Still, the hot showers were a lifesaver, you best believe I will always take advantage of hot showers ahah. Even though the springs weren’t exactly what I expected, the combination of exploring the caves and relaxing in the serene surroundings made the trip worth it. If you’re in the area, Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs is definitely a place you should check out for a chill day immersed in Tasmania’s natural beauty.
