Wilsons Promontory National Park, known as the Prom, is a stunning destination in Victoria and the southernmost national park on mainland Australia. Covering 50,500 hectares, it's renowned for its lush rainforests, beautiful beaches, and diverse wildlife. While I have detailed my favorite spots within the park in my Things To Do but I wanted to emphasize the camping situation for those on a budget or stealth campers.

During my first visit, I learned firsthand that finding a stealth spot to camp can be quite challenging. The park is heavily patrolled by rangers, and parking up in less official areas can be difficult and a bit daunting. The national park offers one official paid campsite, which costs $38.00 per night. Though it’s not the most budget-friendly option, it comes with good facilities and is in a very convenient location.

A key point to remember is that this campsite can be booked out quickly, so it’s crucial to reserve your spot as early as possible. Planning ahead and securing a campsite will ensure a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. If you’re heading to The Prom, it’s definitely worth considering a bit of extra expense for a smoother camping experience.
