This day takes you from the border through Luohu's best luxury mall, west to Futian's hilltop park, along the CBD's most photogenic open mall and up to the second tallest building in China at golden hour. A perfect arc from ground level to 599 metres.
Full Day Timing:
🕙 10:00am — Lo Wu Border
Cross and take Line 1 west immediately.
🛍️ 10:30am — Luohu MixC
Luohu Station exit. 45 minute browse. 250 stores. International luxury brands. More for the atmosphere and architecture than buying — though the lower level food court is good for a quick coffee and pastry.
☕ 11:15am — Coffee at Luohu MixC lower level
Fuel up before the park walk.
🚇 11:30am — Metro Line 4 to Children's Palace Station
15 minutes from Luohu area.
🌳 12:00pm — Lianhua Hill Park
Walk up to the Deng Xiaoping statue. 20 minute climb. Views over the entire Shenzhen CBD from the top. Free. Take your time — this is your midday reset before the afternoon. Allow 60 to 90 minutes including the walk down.
🍜 1:30pm — Lunch at One Avenue
Metro to Gangxia Station — 5 minutes. Walk 5 minutes to One Avenue. Multiple restaurant floors. Japanese, Chinese, Western, hot pot. Budget ¥60 to ¥120 per person. Allow 60 minutes.
🛍️ 3:00pm — One Avenue browse
Walk the 800 metre Central Avenue. Art installations. Fashion. Cafes. Photo opportunities throughout. Allow 45 minutes.
🚶 3:45pm — Walk to COCO Park
10 minute walk east from One Avenue. Browse the shops and bar street. Good for a mid afternoon drink.
☕ 4:00pm — COCO Park cafe stop
Rest before the observation deck climb. Multiple cafe options throughout the complex.
🚇 4:30pm — Metro or walk to Ping An Finance Centre
Shopping Park Station — 5 minute walk. Buy observation deck tickets in advance to skip the queue.
🏙️ 5:00pm to 7:00pm — Ping An Finance Centre
96th floor observation deck. 599 metres. Arrive at 5pm for golden hour light on the city. Stay until dark when the city illuminates below you. The views toward Hong Kong on clear days are extraordinary.
🌃 7:30pm — Civic Centre Night Light Show
10 minute walk or one metro stop to Civic Center Station. Show at 7:30pm, 8:30pm or 9:30pm. Free. Do not skip this.
🚇 By 10:30pm — Head back to Lo Wu
Line 1 east to Luohu. Walk across. Last train to Hong Kong.
End: 11pm back in Hong Konghopping eating in Shenzhen.
