Ahipara is a small coastal town located at the end of Ninety Mile Beach in the Northland Region. For Southbound hikers this will be the first trail town you reach or for Northbound hikers the last trail town before completing the TA! The town has both camping and accommodation options as well and cafes and small shops. I would recommend buying only what you need here and waiting until Kaitaia (the next trail town which you will reach the following day) to do a bigger resupply for the next section. That said do still make sure to support the trail towns you walk through and grab a coffee or ice cream on the way (:
