Abel Tasman National Park is a beautiful and picturesque national park in New Zealand's South Island. It is situated between Golden Bay and Te Tai-o-Aorere, and was named after Abel Tasman, who became the first European explorer to sight New Zealand in 1642. The park includes 237 km2 of forested and hilly country, with stunning views of the Tasman Bay and Golden Bay coasts. Many recreational options are available in the park, including kayaking, camping and visiting coastal islands. There are also numerous walking tracks, such as the Abel Tasman Coast Track and Abel Tasman Inland Track, which provide plenty of opportunity for exploration of this one-of-a-kind national park.
