Zealandia is an urban ecosanctuary located in Wellington, New Zealand. It covers 2.3 square kilometres of predator-proof fence which protects the native flora and fauna from the threats posed by invasive species. An abundance of rare wildlife can be found here, including birds like Takahē and Tui, reptiles like Maud Island Frogs and Tuatara, frogs, insects, amphibians, and diverse plant life. It is also home to the iconic Kiwi bird, where visitors can spot it roaming during night time. Guests can enjoy exploring the sanctuary as part of a private or guided tour, or independently. Adventurers can learn about the park’s vision of restoring the region to its pre-human state, and venture through the lush forest as they come across the many creatures that call this sanctuary home.
