Water from the Dynjandisheiði plateau cascades into the Dynjandisá River and then plummets down into the majestic Dynjandi waterfall, also known as Fjallfoss. This breathtaking cascade is the largest waterfall in Iceland's Western Fjords region, standing tall at 100 meters and stretching 30 meters wide at the top and 60 meters wide at the bottom.
Apart from Dynjandi, visitors can marvel at six other waterfalls located downstream, including the Hæstahjallafoss, Strompgljúfrafoss, Göngumannafoss, Hrísvaðsfoss, Hundafoss, and Bæjarfoss.
To reach the waterfall, you can take a hike along a scenic trail that starts at the parking lot. The trail leads through a beautiful landscape, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys before culminating in the unforgettable sight of the mighty Dynjandi waterfall.
