When you arrive to Karioitahi beach, look up at your right and that's the cliff you climb to get to the waterfall. so just walk towards your right for about 3-5mins and you'll see a path heading up.

There's also rusted out cars scattered along the beach that you can hunt for!

Karioitahi Beach, located on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island, is a rugged and windswept black sand beach popular for surfing, fishing, horse riding, and paragliding. Formed by sand dunes over millions of years, it offers a picturesque setting with freshwater lakes nearby. The local surf club, Surf Life Saving Kariaotahi, patrols the beach and has received numerous awards for its contributions to water safety. With activities like canoe racing and IRB racing, this beach is not just a spot for relaxation but also a hub for adventure seekers and water sports enthusiasts.
