Conwy Castle, located in North Wales, was built by Edward I between 1283 and 1287 as part of his conquest of Wales. The castle played a significant role in various wars over the centuries, including withstanding sieges and serving as a temporary refuge for royalty. Despite falling into disrepair at times, it has been partially restored and is now managed as a tourist attraction by Cadw. With its impressive architecture and historical significance, Conwy Castle is considered one of the finest examples of medieval military architecture in Europe.
