bericht van Sarah

Nant-y-Ffrith is a quiet valley in Wales, known for its picturesque surroundings and rich history, with evidence of pre-Roman Celtic activity, abandoned mines, and the former Nant-y-Ffrith Hall. This walk takes you through the woodland and quarry trails to a hidden waterfall and some secret caves (so secret that we didn't find them, but I have since learned of there location and have indicated it on the map). There is a great little picnic spot by the bridge at the bottom of the valley where we had some hot chocolate and played in the river.

*Please note that the waterfall and caves here are behind some "no entry" signs. They are there for safety purposes as the access to the waterfall is down a steep path/scramble. So this is more suited to older children. You can still access the river and enjoy the walk through the woodlands if you prefer not to access the waterfall.
