S.S. Klondike sits on the Yukon River at the edge of Whitehorse and is the restored sternwheeler you can walk onto and explore with concise interpretive exhibits, so plan for a 30–60 minute visit. It is run seasonally by Parks Canada, with the shore displays and visitor area accessible year-round but boarding and guided programs usually only in summer, so check hours before you go. Expect uneven decking and stairs to access parts of the vessel, so wear sturdy shoes; bring a warm layer and insect repellent in summer. There is limited parking and easy bike or short-drive access from downtown, and the site makes a great quick stop for photos and a bit of Yukon river history.
