Bassin Carrosse is a quiet, lesser-known pool fed by a cascade in the hills of Sainte-Suzanne, surrounded by sugarcane and banana fields with barely any signage or people. The setting is peaceful and clean, making it a good quick stop for a dip or a photo if you’re driving through the east.
What to expect:
Small trail access from a dirt road. Flat but may be slippery after rain
A round, calm basin with a short waterfall at the far end
Possible swim spot, but no lifeguards or facilities
Natural shade, birdsong, and space to sit on dry rocks
No vendors, no trash bins. Pack in and out
It’s not dramatic like Takamaka or Grand Galet, but it’s atmospheric. Locals use it as a calm alternative to the better-known sites.
👉 Avoid after heavy rain. The access road floods, and the water can rise quickly. Weekdays are best for peace and quiet.
