Svartholm, "Little Suomenlinna", is the sister fortress of Suomenlinna and is located just under half an hour by boat from Loviisa's Laivasilta. The island fortress, completed around the mid-18th century, is a popular tourist destination and museum in the summer. The island has a summer restaurant, a free guest marina and accommodation options.

Svartholm is a popular day trip destination. You can easily reach the island by a fast shared ferry that cruises several times a day.

The ferry takes you quickly, easily and safely to the fortress island of Svartholm. You can take part in fixed-schedule day cruises (the cruise includes a round-trip) or travel according to your own schedule on one-way trips. Day cruises leave you on the island in just under three hours.

Departure and return take place from Loviisa's Laivasilta. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Tickets must be purchased in advance from the online store. You can access the store by clicking here: http://kauppa.visitsvartholm.fi/index.php?lang=3
