Ljósavatn, also known as the "Lake of Lights," is a deep lake in Iceland with great fishing opportunities. It was once the home of the famous lawspeaker and chieftain Þorgeir, who famously threw his idols into Goðafoss after converting to Christianity. A new church, Þorgeirskirkja, was consecrated there in 2000 to mark the 1000th anniversary of Iceland's conversion to Christianity. So, if you're into fishing or historical sites, Ljósavatn is definitely worth checking out!
