The currency of Uzbekistan is the Uzbek Som (UZS).

However, credit cards are used in restaurants, non-low-end hotels, and tourist bazaars. Uzbeks prefer cash, so in our opinion withdrawing is the best option. There are numerous banks and ATMs in the cities where you can withdraw U.S. dollars and/or Uzbek som.

• Eating at local restaurants is cheap (they add a 10 to 15 percent service charge).

• Tourist attractions are affordable

• Public transportation such as metro and train travel is affordable

• Hotel prices vary by city and category.

• In local markets, prices are not fixed and you have to haggle. Vendors may demand higher prices from tourists, so it is important to try to reduce the price during bargaining.

La carta di credito è comunque utilizzata nei ristoranti, hotel non di fascia bassa e nei bazar turistici. Gli uzbeki preferiscono i contanti, quindi secondo noi prelevare è la scelta migliore. Nelle città ci sono numerose banche e sportelli dove poter prelevare dollari americani e/o som uzbeki.
