Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve, located on the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula in Newfoundland, is a windswept and unique botanical site. Despite its barren appearance, this limestone peninsula boasts over 300 plant species, with around 30 considered rare. The cool climate, calcium-rich soil, and arctic conditions create a habitat for these special plants, including the threatened Fernald's braya. Visitors can enjoy hiking, bird watching, and spotting icebergs and whales while being mindful of the fragile ecosystem.
