Hidden away in the little village of Badger in Shropshire, Badger Dingle is such a lovely spot if you're after a bit of nature, some low-key adventure, a paddle and a sprinkle of history.

đŸš¶â€â™‚ïž Woodland Walks with a Story
There’s an easy 2-mile circular trail that winds through the woods—shady, green, and super peaceful. It takes around an hour, and it’s perfect for kids who like to explore. You’ll come across old features like a rotunda and a quirky little ‘bird house’ folly, which adds a fun twist to the usual forest walk.

💩 Waterfalls & Paddling
Halfway round there’s a little waterfall and shallow brook where the kids can paddle. It’s a great spot to stop for a snack or just let them splash about for a bit—especially if it’s warm.
This isn’t just a pretty walk—it's got history too. The whole area was landscaped back in the 1700s, so as you go around you’ll spot old garden structures and water features that have been there for centuries. It gives the whole place a magical, almost secret-garden feel.

  • Location: Badger, Shropshire, WV6 7JX

  • Parking: There’s a bit of roadside parking near the start—just park considerately or we parked on the disused pub car park The Red Cow at Ackleton

  • Facilities: No toilets or cafĂ©, so come prepared!

  • Pushchair Access: Not ideal; it’s a bit bumpy and uneven

  • Dogs: Welcome, but best kept on a lead
