There is a beautiful winter hike starts from Foppa called Höhenweg Foppa - Fidaz. It is marked with number 273 and you will have in sight the Flimserstein, the scene of a biggest rockslide that ever happened in Switzerland. It is an easy trail, suitable to children and elderly people as well. You will have view of the surrounding mountains and the valley below.
HIKE DETAILS:
Take the number 81 bus from Chur to Flims, Bergbahnen. From here, take the gondola up to Foppa . The ticket cost me 17 franks.
At Foppa is where the hike starts. You need to cross a ski slope before you drop into the forest. The hike is groomed and it gently leads you downhill towards Fidaz. The trail is 4 km long with almost no elevation gain. The hike can take 1 - 1,5 hours.
In case you wish to save money, I recommend doing this trail in reversed. Start at Fidaz and hike up to Foppa ( it will be approximately 360 meters of elevation gain ) from Foppa you can just hike back the same way or turn off onto another trail down to Flims, dorf.
