The Stanford Theatre is a must-see for classic film lovers in Palo Alto, California. It was built in 1925 with a neoclassical Persian and Moorish filled theatre featuring an orchestra organ made by Rudolph Wurlitzer Co., equipped with pipes to provide the sounds of trumpets, strings, saxophone and other percussion instruments. After its renovation in 2017, the theatre now showcases films created between 1910 and 1970, whilst encompassing film festivals for several genres, directors and actors like Alfred Hitchcock, Bette Davis and Cary Grant. The theatre also has a "Mighty Wurlitzer Organ" that plays live during intermissions and alongside silent films. So if you’re looking to get your fill of classic film, pay a visit to the Stanford Theatre and be transported into an era of time.
