This is one of those spots that never gets old — no matter how many times you’ve been.
The Engine Bridge (Banff Pedestrian Bridge) is about as easy as it gets. It’s a flat, short walk that takes around 30 minutes if you loop it with the riverside trails, making it perfect if you just want something relaxed without committing to a full hike.
The bridge itself is a former railway bridge crossing the Bow River, and from here you get some really nice views of Cascade Mountain and Mount Rundle. On a calm day, the reflections in the water can be pretty unreal.
It’s also connected to the Bow River trail system, so you can easily turn this into a longer stroll if you feel like it.
And if it looks familiar — it was featured in The Last of Us, which filmed scenes here in Banff.
Simple, scenic, and one of those places you’ll probably come back to more than once.
