Venice doesn’t follow normal street logic. Instead of street-by-street numbers, each sestiere (district) has its own continuous numbering system, often in the thousands.

So you might find:

  • Campo Santa Maria Formosa at Castello 5250

  • And a nearby door at Castello 1031 — on a totally different street!

Here’s what helps:

  • Always note the sestiere name (Cannaregio, San Marco, etc.)

  • Combine it with a nearby landmark or calle name

  • Ask a local — Venetians are used to helping people lost in the numbers!

📌 Tip: If you're visiting a workshop, guide, or local experience, double-check their directions — and don’t trust apps blindly in Venice's narrow calle and bridges.
