Bericht van
Maria Rafaela Fasaki

You’ll get to the Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti known as the Spanish Steps, for a quick but iconic Rome moment; go at dawn for the best light and far fewer people, or after sunset for a quieter, atmospheric view. Sitting, picnicking or eating on the steps is banned and can lead to fines, and the spot attracts pickpockets, so keep bags zipped and valuables close. It’s not wheelchair friendly, so wear comfortable shoes for the climb and cobbles, and use the Spagna metro exit or walk via Via Condotti if you want to combine shopping or a visit to nearby sights like the Keats-Shelley House. Expect crowds midday and occasional temporary closures for maintenance or events.
