Komyo-ji Temple, located in Nagaokakyo City in Kyoto Prefecture, is the Grand Head Temple of the Seizan Jodo sect. It was founded in 1198 by Rensho, who was a disciple of Honen and advocates a prayer to Buddha for the first time. Guests can admire the stunning autumn leaves that are planted along its approach called Momiji-sando, as well as explore its historic buildings like Enma-do Hall, Miei-do Hall, Amida-do Hall, and many more. The most beloved attraction at Komyo-ji would be for sure the All-Temple Sumigaki as it reads the words 'jodomon-kongenchi' which means the birth place of the Jodo sect of Buddhism. Whether you're a history buff or just looking forward to taking amazing pictures of the colorful autumn scenery, Komyo-ji is worth a visit!

The ticket is 1000 yen only for november and devember during autumn season.

To get there, take a bus from Nagaokatenjin station to the temple, it's only 230 yen one way. The bus numbers you can take are 20 or 22. The bus stop is not exactly located in front of the station, so be careful to exit through the west gates to go onto the main street on the right.
