Things We Loved in Mérida:
Plaza Grande & Historic Center – Wandering around the main square and its surrounding streets was such a joy. The cathedral, government palace, and colorful colonial buildings made every stroll feel picturesque.
Local Markets – We loved exploring Mercado Lucas de Gálvez for fresh fruit, local snacks, and handmade crafts — it gave us a real taste of Yucatán life.
Museums & Culture – The Museo Casa de Montejo and other small museums offered insight into the city’s rich history and colonial past.
Cenotes Nearby – A short drive from Mérida, we found some beautiful cenotes to swim in, which was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
Food & Drinks – We couldn’t get enough of local specialties like cochinita pibil, panuchos, and marquesitas, paired with fresh juices or local craft beer. Make sure to get go Dona Gorda and get some Gorditats

Casa Azul Boutique Hotel – We loved staying here. It’s a charming, colorful hotel in the heart of the historic center, making it easy to explore on foot and soak up the city vibe.
