bericht van Nicole Carter

The tomb of Tutankhamun, also known as KV62, is located in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. It consists of four chambers and an entrance staircase, and was originally thought to be a non-royal tomb before being adapted for Tutankhamun's burial. Discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon, the tomb contained a treasure trove of funerary objects and personal possessions, sparking a media frenzy known as "Tutmania." Despite being robbed twice shortly after Tutankhamun's burial, most of the burial goods remained intact. Today, the tomb is a popular tourist attraction, with a replica chamber built nearby to reduce damage from heavy visitor traffic.
