Bort Alpine Playground

Halfway up the First gondola line from Grindelwald, you’ll find Bort station—home to one of the best alpine playgrounds in Switzerland. With the Eiger’s north face looming above and rolling meadows all around, it’s hard to tell what’s more fun: the playground itself or the views.

• What’s there: Giant climbing structures, balance beams, zip lines, trampolines, and sand play areas. There’s plenty of space for both little ones and bigger kids to play safely.

• How to get there: Ride the First gondola from Grindelwald village and hop off at the Bort mid-station (about 15 minutes up). You can either keep riding the gondola higher or stop here for playtime.

• Tip: The Mountain Cart ride ends here and the Trottibike scooters start here, so Bort is the perfect place to hang out with younger kids while the older ones (or the adults!) do the adventure activities.
