Transportation in Bali
How to get around like a PRO

Bali, Indonesia
Getting around Bali can be tricky, but follow these tips and you’ll move around the island smoothly, safely, and stress-free.
For short trips in areas like Canggu, Seminyak, or Uluwatu, Grab or Gojek is the easiest option - cheap, fixed prices, and no stress over local taxi scams.
If you’re confident on a scooter, renting one is the fastest way to explore locally. Helmets and an international license are required. For longer trips - Ubud, waterfalls, Mount Batur - hire a private driver. Around 400–500k IDR (~£20–25) for 8–10 hours, safer than driving yourself, and they know all the shortcuts.
Carry some cash, plan routes ahead, and leave extra time for traffic. Mix Grab/Gojek for short trips, scooters for local freedom, and private drivers for day trips - and you’ll move around Bali effortlessly.
