Irimahuwhero Lookout, located on State Highway 6 in the West Coast of New Zealand, offers stunning views of Irimahuwhero Bay and the surrounding coastline. It is a spot that I had wanted to find and visit for quite a few years so I was very happy to stumble upon it in 2025 finally after driving up towards the Fox River from Greymouth.

This lookout is well-maintained and provides side of the road pullover parking spaces (approx 4-5) and there is a picnic bench waiting for you when you walk up the short path.

For photography I would suggest your mid to full range zoom lens (anywhere from 50 - 300mm). We arrived here about an hour and a half after sunrise and there was so beautiful sea mist in the air hugging the coastline. I would also suggest visiting the spot for sunset.
